In 2026, Major Abhilasha Barak was honoured with the United Nations Military Gender Advocate of the Year 2025 Award, one of the UN’s highest recognitions for military personnel promoting gender equality in peacekeeping missions. The award acknowledged her outstanding service with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), where she served as the Commander of the Female Engagement Team (FET) of the Indian Battalion.
